Edward has 27 years of experience working with people who have mental health concerns. Currently working as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (registered under the BABCP) he is interested in working with people who would like to work on their thoughts, emotions, behaviours, physiology and events that have happened to them. He is able to help if you have low mood, rumination, worrying, depression, addictions, social anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, people pleasing, work related stress, pain and perfectionism (to name some).
He is well experienced using a range of different therapeutic models and interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassionate Focused Therapy and Meta Cognitive Therapy.
He started off as a Psychiatric Nurse working in inpatient units and in the community. He then moved to working in addictions, now a CBT therapist. As a CBT therapist he has worked with many different presentations. He is qualified to work with long term health conditions, also has started conducting ADHD assessments (as he sees this as an important part of being a CBT therapist). He has attended numerous Universities which include Kingston University, Roehampton University, Surrey University and the University of Birmingham.
Edward is the founder of the General Meta Formualtion (GMF). This is a formulation which is used for people who experience perfectionism, self-esteem, people pleasing, worrying and rumination. He is currently writing a book on this approach and has an online course which has over 250 practitioners in/ outside of the Uk enrolled on.
