Divik Seth

Dr Seth is a very experienced consultant psychiatrist with significant experience in diagnosing and treating ADHD. He has more than 20 years clinical experience of working with neurodiverse children with neuro-developmental and other co-morbid conditions.  This includes over 14 years’ experience as a consultant child and adolescent psychiatrist in the national health services (NHS).

Dr Seth has won clinical excellence award for going above and beyond what is required in his role as well as for innovative ideas to develop services for children and young people.

Dr Seth is fully licensed to practice by the General Medical Council and is on the GMC’s Specialist Register.  His GMC number is 6071765. He is also a registered member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Upon receipt of GP referral, he is pleased to offer consultations for:

  • Specialist diagnostic assessments and treatment for ADHD in children aged 6 to 18 years.
  • General child and adolescent psychiatry assessment and treatment- this is a holistic assessment for general emotional and behavioural problems (anxiety, tics and Tourette syndrome, depression, OCD, phobias, PTSD and other stress-related problems) in children aged 6 to 18 years.

Dr Seth currently leads the Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) pathway in Cambridge. Whilst at Cambridge, he has led on several initiatives for the Child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS) including developing and reviewing joint specialist ADHD pathways with the community paediatrics team, initiating ADHD parent education groups, developing processes to safely prescribe ADHD medication etc.

Dr Seth regularly deliver teaching and training, on ADHD, to a wide range of professionals, including GPs, paediatricians, multi-disciplinary team (MDT) colleagues, Junior doctors, and medical students. He regularly supervises nurses and trainees in managing children and young people with ADHD. Dr Seth conduct group training program for parents/carers of children with ADHD.

Training and experience:

Dr Seth completed his MD in psychiatry followed by specialist training in psychiatry and certificate of completing of training(CCT) in Child and adolescent psychiatry in Cambridge.

Dr Seth was an associate clinical director for the CAMH services in Exeter.

Dr Seth’s area of special interest has been ADHD and he has done research on ADHD including:

(1) A follow-up study of clinic children and adolescents with ADHD (MD thesis)

(2) The age on onset criterion for ADHD: literature review- this was written as a scholarship project towards a CCT in child and adolescent psychiatry.

(3) Published the online training module on ADHD which is part of the child development and disability essential (Mckeith press) for the paediatrics trainees and is mapped to RCPCH progress+ competencies.
