BookNowOsteopathy is a system of diagnosis and treatment for a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. It works with the structure and function of the body, where the well-being of an individual depends on the skeleton, muscles, ligaments and connective tissues functioning smoothly together. A variety of manual techniques, from moderate to more intense pressure, are used in the form of stretching, massage, joint manipulation and movement to treat the root cause of the problem rather than just the superficial symptoms.

What can I expect on my first visit to your Cambridge Osteopathy clinic?

When visiting one of our Cambridge osteopaths for the first time they will carry out a consultation to assess your current problem and to find out when it first started, where the pain is and what aggravates it.

For a precise diagnosis to be made, they will carry out a postural examination to assess areas of weakness, inflammation, muscle strain or soreness.

During your postural examination, your osteopath may ask you to remove relevant pieces of clothing such as top or trousers. If you feel more comfortable wearing sports shorts please feel free to bring them with you to change into.

The osteopath will then discuss what is causing your discomfort and advise you on the most appropriate treatment plan.

Expected number of appointments
