Susie Renshaw is an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist, accredited and registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). She specialises in helping people with transition issues – facing changes in personal circumstances (eg family/career/study), endings, losses or entering a new phase of life.
Trained in integrative therapy, she draws from three main approaches: Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Susie has worked as a Counsellor for over 14 years with adults and young people. In addition to private practice, she has many years’ experience providing consultations and counselling to students in higher education and to asylum seekers and refugees.
This has given her considerable experience in working with a wide range of problems including low mood, depression, anxiety, grief, eating problems, relationships, low self-esteem and confidence, identity, work/study issues and traumatic experiences.
She offers focused, short-term counselling (typically 6-8 appointments), as well as long-term psychotherapy if you want to work through more deep-seated or complex issues.
She provides a confidential and professional environment. She brings warmth, empathy, a non-judgemental attitude and a sense of humour. She can be gently challenging where necessary, while being supportive and compassionate.
In her previous career, Susie was a media and public relations professional and she holds a degree in Social Anthropology from the University of Manchester.
