Dr Jasmine Childs-Fegredo is a Counselling Psychologist with a wide range of experience in treating individuals with mental health issues in the NHS and in private healthcare. She has worked primarily with people suffering with depression and anxiety, as well as eating disorders and personality disorders, incorporating issues around self-harm. Jasmine is happy to see individuals suffering with a wide range of issues, including mainstream problems such as uncomfortable body image, relationship breakdowns, insomnia, and feelings of low self-confidence.
Jasmine believes in lasting change through psychological counselling. People come to therapy for a variety of reasons, whether dealing with difficulties in everyday situations like work or relationships, to more distressing experiences such as trauma or panic. Sometimes, a short course of talking therapy can help someone see things in a different light in the comfort of a safe and healing setting. On other occasions, someone may have a long history of suffering with distress, and may need a more open ended and nurturing type of therapy.
Jasmine is a holistic practitioner – that is, she is keen to meet the person behind the distress, and not just work with psychiatric labels. She believes in a range of techniques to help improve your wellbeing in all areas of your life. For some people, a course of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) may be the best treatment, whilst others may benefit from techniques such as mindfulness or looking at past experiences. Jasmine believes that good therapy is not a ‘one size fits all’ model, so please do get in touch with her to discuss your needs so that she can tailor an approach to suit you.
Jasmine holds a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). She has worked in mental health for 5 years with a variety of talking therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy, whilst researching Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). She is also a trained yoga teacher, proven as a technique to improve wellbeing. Please contact Jasmine by telephone or email to find out if you would like to set up an initial assessment session.
In order to further her training and knowledge and provide the best practice for her clients, Jasmine regularly participates in Continuous Professional Development and supervision.
